What’s Here?
There are native British species and animals from around the world. They come from a variety of habitats including rainforest and  desert.  Many of the animals are endangered and are part of national /international breeding programmes.  Outdoor animals include lemurs, meerkats, monkeys, marmosets, otters, ibis, cranes, owls, red squirrel, porcupines, lynx, ocelot, beavers, wallabies, rabbits, sheep and goats. Rodents, invertebrates, reptiles, snakes and amphibians are all housed in covered enclosures.  Rainforest animals are particularly well represented.
Animals

There are displays of stuffed animals, skulls, exoskeletons and animal materials available for handling. There are also live animals.  All are used to reinforce learning.

Animals are housed in conditions that match their natural habitat as far as possible  The animals on show vary as we exchange with other zoos for breeding programmes.

The shop sells a range of low priced products. Pre-packed goodie bags can be requested in advance. There are displays with an environmental awareness theme.
